Airline passenger traffic in August at Hector International Airport showed a decrease as compared to the same month in 2006. In August 2007, the passenger enplanements were 24,597. This is a decrease of 8.1% when compared to the August 2006 passenger enplanements of 26,770. Total passenger count for the month was 49,435, which is down 6.9% over the same period last year.
In August 2007, Northwest Airlines operated eight daily flights to Minneapolis with Airbus A319/320, DC-9, CRJ900 and CRJ200 aircraft. United Express operated four daily flights to Chicago and four daily flights to Denver with the Canadair CRJ200 and CRJ700. Delta Connection operated two daily flights to Salt Lake City with the Canadair CRJ200 aircraft. Allegiant Air operates two-weekly flights to Las Vegas utilizing the 150-seat McDonnell Douglas MD-83 aircraft.
Northwest Airlines had 48% of the market share, United Express at 40% Delta Connection at 7% and Allegiant Air at 5% with a daily average of 1,595 passengers both arriving and departing.
