MONTHLY STATISTICS - May 2008

Airline passenger traffic in May at Hector International Airport showed an increase as compared to the same month in 2007.  In May 2008, the passenger enplanements were 27,252.  This is an increase of 9.5% when compared to the May 2007 passenger enplanements of 24,894. Total passenger count for the month was 54,335, which is up 9.7% over the same period last year.  This was the busiest May on record.  The previous record for May was set back in 1992 when American Airlines initiated service to Chicago.

In May 2008, Northwest Airlines operated eight daily flights to Minneapolis with Airbus A319/320, DC-9, EMB-175, CRJ900 and CRJ200 aircraft.  United Express operated four daily flights to Chicago and four daily flights to Denver with the Canadair CRJ200 and CRJ700.  Allegiant Air operates two-weekly flights to Las Vegas and two weekly flights to Phoenix/Mesa utilizing the 150-seat McDonnell Douglas MD-83.  Frontier Airlines initiated service to Denver with two daily flight utilizing the Bombardier Q400 aircraft.

For the month of May, Northwest Airlines had 53% of the market share, United Express at 31%, Allegiant Air at 10%  and Frontier at 6% with a daily average of 1,753 passengers both arriving and departing.
