Due to the low volume of badges now being issued, please call (701) 241-1501 to make an appointment.

Effective June 1, 2009 - the Transportation Security Administration has implemented security procedures for all commercial service airports in the United States. Any individual with unescorted access privileges must obtain an ID badge to access the Air Operations Area (AOA) via the vehicle gates, turnstiles or through a building adjacent the AOA (old terminal and/or hangar).

If you are a hangar owner/operator on the Airport, you may obtain an AOA ID badge. If you are not, you will need a sponsor (current hangar owner or leaseholder) to sign for you.

Bring a passport (list A) or two forms of identification as listed below (list B and C).
A security threat assessment (STA) will be completed prior to issuing the ID badge. This process may take up to 7 days.
There will be a $20 (cash or check only) non-refundable fee for the initial picture ID badge.

Per TSA security requirements - the AOA ID badge must be reactivated annually within 30 days prior to your birthday and be reissued every two years with an additional $10 charge (subject to change).

At renewal, you will need to return your expired AOA ID badge to be issued a new one. If the old badge is not returned, you will be charged the $100 lost ID fee.

REMINDERS FOR REACTIVATION OR RENEWAL WILL NOT MAILED OUT.

THERE WILL BE A $100 FEE CHARGED FOR A LOST OR NOT RETURNED ID BADGE.

IF MORE THAN 5% OF ALL ISSUED ID BADGES ARE UNACCOUNTED FOR ANNUALLY, ALL ID BADGES MUST BE REISSUED AND INCUR AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE.

List A - Documents that Establish Both Identity and Employment Eligibility

U.S. Passport

Certificate of U.S. Citizenship (USCIS Form N-560 or N-561)

Certificate of Naturalization (USCIS Form N-550 or N-570)

Unexpired foreign passport, with I-551 stamp or attached Form l-94 indicating unexpired employment authorization

Permanent Resident Card or Alien Registration Receipt Card with photograph (USCIS Form l-151 or l-551)

Unexpired Temporary Resident Card (USCIS Form l-688)

Unexpired Employment Authorization Card (USCIS Form l-688A)

Unexpired Reentry Permit (USCIS Form l-327)

Unexpired Refugee Travel Document (USCIS Form l-571)

Unexpired Employment Authorization Document issued by USCIS that contains a photograph (USCIS Form l-688B)

Documents that Establish Identity

List B

Driver’s license or ID card issued by a State or outlying possession of the United States provided it contains a photograph or information such as name, date of birth, gender, height, eye color, and address

ID card issued by Federal, State, or local government agency or entity provided it contains a photograph or information such as name, date of birth, gender, height, eye color, and address

School ID card with a photograph

Voter’s registration card

U.S. Military card or draft record

Military dependent’s ID card

U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Card

Native American tribal document

Driver’s license issued by a Canadian government authority

For persons under the age of 18 who are unable to present a document listed above

School record or report card

Clinic, doctor, or hospital record

Day-care or nursery school record

Social Security card issued by the Social Security Administration (other than a card stating it is not valid for employment)

Certification of Birth Abroad Issued by the Department of State (Form FS-545 or Form DS-1350)

Original or certified copy of a birth certificate issued by a State, county, municipal authority, or outlying possession of the United States bearing an official seal

Native American tribal document

U.S. Citizen ID Card (USCIS Form l-197)

ID Card for use of Resident Citizen in the United States (USCIS Form l-179)

Unexpired employment authorization document issued by USCIS (other than those listed under List A)
