Welcome to Hector International Airport - Fargo, ND
The North Dakota Air National Guard Fire Department at Hector International Airport has recently taken delivery of a new state-of-the-art aircraft rescue vehicle.
The new all-wheel-drive vehicle, identified as Rescue 7, is a US Air Force P-30 Medium Rescue Vehicle manufactured by Pierce Manufacturing. It is built on a 2009 Freightliner FL70 Chassis, with an Encore rescue body. The new truck is powered by a Cummins 350 hp diesel engine with an Allison MD 3066P five speed automatic transmission. This vehicle will be a replacement for an older vehicle and will supplement eight other vehicles currently in service.
There is seating for four crew members, with three seats having the self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) holding bracket mounted into the seat for quicker donning of the SCBA equipment.
The truck is also equipped with a Winco 25KW PTO mounted generator, Will-Burt Night Scan Powerlite 15-ft. telescoping, a 3000 watt quartz light tower, and a Warn 12,000 lb. winch with 125 ft of 3/8 in. diameter cable. The truck is 10'-11.5" tall by 29'-6 3/8" long, with a Gross Weight Vehicle Rating of 31,000 lbs. and a rated speed of 55 mph.
This truck will be equipped with all of our specialized rescue equipment for all of our needs, but doesn't carry any water for firefighting.
The $267,000 vehicle was funded by the Federal Government and was put into service in December 2008.
