Fargo Hector Is Awarded 2004 Commercial Airport Of the Year March 10, 2005

The Fargo Hector International Airport was honored with the '2004 Commercial Aviation Airport of the Year'; award at the Upper Midwest Aviation Symposium banquet held in Fargo on March 8, 2005. This award was accepted on behalf of the Fargo Hector International Airport by Shawn Dobberstein, Executive Director of the Airport Authority.

 

This award is co-sponsored by the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission and the Airport Association of North Dakota (AAND). AAND represents airport management and authorities at 90 public-use airports across North Dakota. The award criteria measures the airport's contribution toward construction management, airport safety and security, business and pleasure flying promotion, pilot terminal services and airport beautification.

 

Airport achievements in 2004 were:

• Reconstruction of air carrier runway

• Promote flight instruction with local marketing

• Coordination of improving customs service access

• Requesting foreign trade zone implementation at airport

• Marketing Fargo Air Museum and additional airline service

• Landscaping and improving north general aviation area

• Establish record year airline and charter passengers of 260,000
