Update on Airport Security Requirements September 18, 2001

Passengers will be met with more stringent security requirements once at the airport.

• Unattended vehicles will not be allowed within 300 feet of the terminal building.
• Short-term parking has been closed due to its close proximity to the building. Anyone wishing to park must do so in the parking lot. 
      Rates are $1/hour, $5/day or $30/week.
• Vehicles can stop in front of the terminal building as long as the vehicle remains continuously attended. This also includes the handicap parking spaces. Airport Security may ask vehicles to move from the front of the terminal if parked for an excessive amount of time.

The FAA has issued a zero tolerance to unattended vehicles. The Fargo Police Department, ASP Security and the Army National Guard will constantly monitor vehicle traffic in proximity of the terminal building and unattended vehicles will be ticketed and possibly towed for non-compliance with the security directive.

• Only ticketed passengers will be allowed through the security check-point.

Passengers are asked to not pack the following items in their carry-on luggage or on their person:

• Knives of any kind or size including utility knives
• Scissors
• Straight razors or razor blades
• Screw drivers
• Hammers
• Ice Picks, sewing needles
• Leatherman tool or likeness
• Wrapped packages such as presents (items will have to be open for inspection)

Use your best judgment and do not pack any item that is questionable or could be construed as a weapon. Be advised that carry on luggage will be closely scrutinized at the security checkpoint. Please comply with any directions given by airline, security checkpoint or law enforcement personnel.

Passengers are asked to check in a between 75 and 90 minutes before their scheduled departure. If passengers are departing on the 5:50 AM departure, please check in no earlier than 75 minutes prior.
