Remodeling Project Completed December 12, 2002 |
Construction was recently completed on a remodeling project for the departure lounge and security checkpoint area.
The
project enlarged the area on the public side of the
security checkpoint. This allows meeters and greeters
ample room to wait for their arriving passenger without
adding congestion to the area where departing passengers
clear the screening process.
Since September 11, 2001 only persons with airline tickets are allowed through the security checkpoint into the departure lounge.
In addition to
the added waiting room, restrooms were added in the
departure lounge area
,
new departure lounge passenger exit doors were installed
along with new security screening equipment. The
reconfiguration of the area should make the screening
process more efficient and user friendly.
The project was delayed slightly due to changes incorporated after the initial bid was opened and awarded.
