United Parcel Service Announces Cargo Jet Service for Fargo

United Parcel Service (UPS) announced today that it will provide cargo jet service between Hector International Airport, Fargo, North Dakota and their Louisville, Kentucky cargo hub. The cargo jet operation will begin this evening and operate until late December. The service is provided in order to meet the demand for cargo services during the busy holiday season.

After this evening’s operation, the Boeing 727 aircraft will arrive at Fargo’s Hector International Airport at 7:00 a.m. each morning and depart for the Louisville cargo hub at 8:45 p.m. The arrival and departure times provide optimum cargo service the UPS customers throughout the Fargo-Moorhead region.

UPS will continue to explore permanent cargo jet opportunities for the Fargo-Moorhead market and surrounding region. Fargo’s Hector International Airport is one of the fastest growing cargo airports in the Upper Midwest. Landed weight cargo aircraft operations have increase from 7,938 tons in 1993 to 55,570 tons in 1999.
