Newly Constructed 5th Gate Opens

The first phase of the terminal expansion is nearly completed with the opening of the new gate 5 area.

The newly constructed gate area is decorated with a new color scheme that will be finished throughout the existing terminal area. New seating will also be acquired in the near future but in the meantime the existing seating will be utilized in the new area.

The new area has new men’s and women’s and also a family restroom. The passenger boarding bridge that was existing at another gate was relocated to the new gate and once the north expansion is complete, a new passenger boarding bridge will be installed at the new gate 3 area. In addition to the new gate area, a third baggage claim was installed.

This new area should open shortly. The second phase of the project commenced with the north expansion.

This portion of the project will expand the security checkpoint area and also more departure lounge space for gates 2 and 3. This phase should be completed in summer of 2008.
