Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program at Hector

Hector International Airport has partnered with the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower organization to adopt the Sunflower Lanyard program. This UK group works to help people with hidden disabilities discreetly inform others using printed lanyards. The lanyards indicate to anyone approaching, and especially to customer service personnel, that the person may need more assistance.

How It Works

  • Travelers with hidden disabilities simply ask for a lanyard, pin or bracelet at the Information Center.
  • There is no qualifying list of disabilities. If you would benefit, please take one.
  • Hector staff are trained to provide extra assistance to those wearing a sunflower. However, it does not entitle you to expedited security.

While the program is relatively new, many U.S. airports are adding it. To get more information, please talk to a customer service representative at the airport Information Center.
